"Living and working in rural/remote areas makes us feel quite alone and isolated at times. Being on call all the time, takes away many of the development opportunities which are offered to our colleagues in bigger centres who have larger teams and scheduled time off where they can physically leave their city/community to attend different events. I cannot emphasize enough how having these little perks and opportunities contribute to my job satisfaction as a midwife in a small community and hospital. As midwives we do not qualify for the Northern living allowance the way physicians do, therefore this feels like a nice little advantage to choosing to work rurally. THANK YOU RhPAP for the REAL program.” - Chantal, Lac La Biche, Midwife
